LOOK FOR OUR UPCOMING LITTER OF AKC STANDARDS IN SPRING 2009!!!!

Welcome to Patricia’s Precious Poodles!

Hi, my name is Trish and my husband is Ray. WE LOVE DOGS! I think that a great love of pets is a great thing to base a good marriage on, don't you? LOL (just kidding) We have several different breeds of dogs, all of which are not only our pets, but we feel as though they are our children, and believe me when I tell you that they are treated like children, because they are extremely spoiled.

As a child, I had several poodles, but never a Standard Poodle and I always wanted one. It didn't take much to convince my dog loving husband that we needed to add a Standard Poodle to our family. We got our first Standard in 2002 and it didn't end there. I once heard it said that you can't just own one Standard Poodle, you know, kinda like a Lays potato chip! LOL . . . well . . . we now have six Standards with our seventh having just been born in a beautiful litter of 10 precious poodles on July 5th, 2008.

We fell so deeply in love with this spectacular breed of dog that we decided to start breeding our own line. We are considered hobby breeders. All of our Standards are AKC registered Standard Poodles and live in our home and give birth in a special room we have set up as a whelping room. My husband and I are right there with them, as they are giving birth assisting with the delivery of each and every baby.

The Standard Poodle has so much to offer as a pet. They are extremely loving, faithful to their families, GREAT watchdogs, intelligent, do very well with agility, thrive on obedience and are also hypo-allergenic for those of you who may have allergies or allergic children. Now that we have mentioned children, the Standard will be your child's best friend and caretaker, they love children and are completely gentle and protective of them. The Standard Poodle must be an active family member, if not, they will certainly let you know that you are ignoring them!

I have heard some people say, especially men, that the Poodle is too
much of a fruu fruu, fluff fluff dog without ever giving the breed a running chance. I can tell you that most people are not aware of the fact that in the 15th Century and Middle Ages, poodles were often used as hunting and retrieving dogs. Since they love to carry things in their mouths and they love water and swimming, they were great at retrieving game, such as, quail, duck, and pheasant that was downed over water. However, hunters soon realized there was a problem with this great sporting dog, it often drowned before it made it back to shore with the game due to its extremely heavy, long, curley sometimes corded coat. The hunters quickly came up with a solution.

They trimmed the Poodle leaving it with a thick short covering around the chestwall and left balls of fur over the hip joints, the leg joints, tail and head to protect the vital organs and joints from the cold waters. After trimming the coat the poodles no longer drowned and were able to return with the game, thus cultivating what is still recognized as THE show ring clip worldwide, referred to as the "Continental Clip." So, when your man starts saying he doesn't want to be seen with a fruu fruu dog, let him know what a wonderful pet, hunter, and all around best friend he is missing out on.

We would love to share our tremendous love of this magnificent pet with you or you and your family if you feel as though you can offer oodles of love, cause that's what your poodle is going to require! Our Home

This is our home. We live on 5-1/4 acres in the southern region of the beautiful state of Missouri. Our puppies are home raised in our home in a special room that we have turned into a whelping room. We have a first hands-on experience from the time the whelping begins, until it ends and until the puppies leave our care for their forever home.

Our puppies will come to you pre-spoiled. They will be handled and will be around the family and all of our other thirteen dogs while growing up. They will be well socialized and have even temperaments and will have a great start on letting their individual personalities shine through. They will begin potty training and crate training by the time they are 5 weeks old. The puppies will not leave our home until they are 8 weeks of age. This is an appropriate time for them to start to develop their immune system.

The puppies have already been taken to our veterinarian, "Butch" Jones of Jones Animal Clinic in Crystal City, Missouri at the age of 3 days old to have their tails docked and dew claws removed and a mini exam. They will return to Dr. Jones at 6 weeks of age for an exam, de-worming and first vaccination. The puppies will come with an AKC package with pamphlets of information, a small bag of the food they have been eating and a toy! Our home is a dog loving home. We have thirteen pets in all and now the puppies......Mason our male AKC Olde English Sheepdog is greeting all on the front porch.

If at any time, for any reason, you decide you no longer want your puppy, please contact us. We will gladly take the puppy back. No money will be refunded, but your puppy will have a nice home.
